Aparthotel Playas Ca’s Saboners

Background

An audit was carried out in the early stages of the Playas Ca’s Saboners’ Wi-Fi network management switchover to determine its status. This revealed that it was poorly designed, both physically (arrangement of all the elements that make up the infrastructure) and in terms of its configuration and logistics.

As a result, it was not possible to take advantage of the network’s full potential and it did not offer a good quality connection

The project

Once we took control of the network in 2020, we completely reworked it, optimising the operations and implementing ‘WiFiBot‘. This system detects and solves network problems automatically, and is also able to control its performance without the intervention of the technical team.

As for the physical part of the network, the antennae were repositioned in the most convenient places in the property, to ensure that the signal was correctly distributed throughout the complex. 3 extra antennae were also fitted throughout the hotel to improve coverage, although overall, everything was assembled with the material that the property already had. Even though it was a very old network, we got it working adequately.

We have recently replaced 5 antennae with more powerful ones to improve the quality.

Initial Position

In the Booking.com scores, the specific Wi-Fi score was 5.2 on the date when all network changes began.

Results

Current position

Thanks to all the changes made to the infrastructure, and WiFiBot’s good network management, the Playas Ca’s Saboners’ specific Wi-Fi score has shot from 5.2 to 9.3.
