BLUESEA Hotels is a young Spanish hotel group based in Palma de Mallorca with hotels across Spain.

It offers a wide range of properties of different categories that meet the needs of their guests, from beach resorts to urban hotels. Their main destinations are the Canary Islands, Mallorca and mainland Spain’s coast.

Their business philosophy is offering holidays at affordable prices without compromising the quality of the service they provide at an unbeatable price.


We discuss how they have managed to increase guest satisfaction through optimal WiFi network management.


For Hotelinking, this hotel chain represents several success stories.

We have already highlighted that in one year direct sales increased by 10 % thanks to our Social WiFi & Automation product, generating a large database, with which to get to know guests and improve their experience. With this information, multiple targeted email marketing campaigns were generated with our hotel CRM which resulted in numerous direct bookings.

We would now like to cover the improvement in the overall score of the WiFi quality achieved in Booking.

Nowadays, WiFi quality is a key point when selecting a hotel on Booking and improving the score in this aspect can be a competitive advantage.

 

Background

BLUESEA Hotels was sure that the provision of WiFi service to hotel guests was a key factor in improving their satisfaction, encouraging their intention to return and recommending.

A malfunction or a bad experience could lower the hotel’s overall score.

The project

Hotelinking had already centralised all the chain’s WiFi networks under a joint management through our NOC service (Network Operation Center). A challenge that the chain had long wanted to solve, as the hotels were separated from each other, and it had been unfeasible for a single company to manage them all until now.

Once we had taken control of their networks, we began to implement WiFiBot, as we needed a tool that would allow us to integrate all the devices in each hotel’s network into a single platform, thus avoiding having to access different ones or each device individually to view information on its status and manage it.

As well as giving us an overview of the overall status and alerting us of any problems, we wanted to be able to fix the most common known issues automatically.

WiFibot acts without the need for intervention by a technician and notifies if the incident has been solved or requires further intervention. Existing tools on the market only partially met our needs, many did not allow us to measure performance and others were too complex or required constant intervention by technicians. This way we know the network’s real status, we know how the service is working for our guests and how to act should there be a problem.

When our engineers activated the tool in the different properties, the WiFi quality scores of some of them in Booking were as follows:

Results

A few months after WiFiBot was implemented and we also started managing the networks (NOC), we noticed a qualitative improvement in the overall assessment of the WiFi quality in Booking.

Current Position

Thanks to these changes, BLUESEA Hotels offers a quality WiFi service due to the total control of the network and the 24/7 monitoring they have of it, thus achieving a considerable increase in guest satisfaction, who perceive this service as a first necessity on their holidays.
