Hotelinking, now available in Chinese

In just a few years, China has consolidated itself as a potential emitter of tourists with a spectacular inter-annual growth, with more than 200 million Chinese tourists expected to travel abroad in 2020.

Spain has recorded a sizeable increase in its number of Chinese tourists. However, despite the “China Tourism Plan” being implemented in Spain since 2012, its market share has barely reached 0.6%. In other words, from the 81 million international tourists who visited Spain in 2018, only 650,000 had a Chinese passport.

This poses a clear opportunity: not only in terms of the number of tourists who may travel to Spain, but for their potential expenditure in the country. The key to making the most of this potential growth of Chinese tourism is found in the ability of companies within the sector to adapt to this type of tourist in order to improve their figures.

As such, and by adhering to our corporate mission of providing a tool that adds value and which helps the hotel industry to stay at the forefront of the data revolution, we at Hotelinking have recently launched the Chinese version of our platform.

We eliminate language barriers to foster and improve the relationship between the hotel and the guest, allowing Chinese guests to send and receive communications in the language in which they feel most comfortable. Besides Chinese, the platform is also available in Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, English and German.

Undertaking actions aimed at adapting and optimising the offer is vital if we want to attract and satisfy a market with a set of specific uses and customs. This is particularly important if we consider the potential number of Chinese visitors and their expenditure.
